From: Chris Lapthorn on 8 Mar 2010 14:58 Hi My daughter has asked me to return an Ebay item (a buggy) weighing 17kg but measuring 71x48x96cm through our DPD contract at work. However, this is outside their size limit (they charge an arm and a leg for anything that volumes over about 30kg) and I'm having no luck finding a company who will do it for about a tenner, which is twice what we would pay if it was within the limit. It's going from Hampshire to Essex. Any suggestions for companies that don't bother too much about volume? I've looked at Parcel2Go, Interparcel and a few others. Thanks Chris

I'd look at the method of how was it sent in the first place. Failing that, try the post office.

It arrived with DHL and my daughter paid 11 to the seller for delivery. Unfortunately it arrived damaged and it has to go back. The seller is not too chuffed and I suspect wouldn't be sorry if my daughter had to pay a small fortune to return it. >> >> Failing that, try the post office. > > <bad form> > > I've had a few big parcel deliveries from myhermes.com (or .co.uk), > might be worth a try. Just looked at Myhermes but maximum weight seems to be 15kg (might have got around that) but volume/girth is too great. Best offer I have had is 17.61 with Parcel2Go Large service. Thanks Chris

Check with DHL. If it arrived damaged, they ought to return it on your behalf. |
