From: Theo Markettos on 24 Feb 2010 08:02 I bought something on BIN a few days ago and paid by Paypal through the eBay site. I got the Paypal receipt, and the item is marked as Paid in My eBay with an invoice. But I've had no confirmation email at all from eBay or the seller. I was expecting the usual 'congratulations you won... now pay up' email that has the seller's details. Should I be expecting these, and chase the seller for them? Or is this normal? They're in China, which means if something has gone wrong it'll be a long while before I can chase for non-delivery. I'm still getting the usual Saved Searches emails, so my email is obviously working. Should I be concerned? Thanks Theo

I have had this happen on 3 occasions. Each time I dropped the seller a message letting them know I had not received any email from Ebay in case they also had not received anything, of those three, two had received the sales email but one had not. There does seem to be an ongoing problem (for some months now) where seeming random Ebay comms are not sent through email. I myself have never not received a sales email but every day I get 2 or 3 questions/messages from buyers or best offer notifications do not come through by Email and I only pick them up when I periodically check 'My Messages' on the Ebay website throughout the day. --

Thanks, I've done this. Do 'messages' come through a different system from sales notifications? Otherwise it's possible my message will also get dropped! Obviously Saved Searches must do. FWIW I checked my spam boxes and logs, and couldn't see any trace of the message. Theo

There is no link, it seems to be completely random.

I'm not quite sure that the whole ebay messages system is working as it should be at the moment. I've replied to a few questions over the past few days only to be asked later as to why I wasn't answering questions.
