I'm on a mission. I am trying to find a cordless phone system with a
main base that has a headset jack in it. The base could also be a
corded phone, but I want one of those expandable systems that can have
several cordless handsets.

I sit at my desk, where the base resides, and have to be on conference
calls a lot. I am looking into the wireless plantronics headsets and
it would make it much easier if I could find a base that had a headset
jack in it.

I appreciate any info!

Andrea.........don't worry, it is not a "mission."

The problem is that the people who make telephones fail to mention that
their phones also have a mini-jack that you can plug any headset or
one-piece "fits in ear and has a tiny microphone, too" into.

Your situation is two-fold: only a few companies make them; and, the tiny
headset plugs into the side of the handset, not the base. Why they design
them that way, I don't know, but they do......probably to save money.

I have two, both Panasonics. Inexpensive and have never had even the
slightest problem.

Let's find you one. Ah, here is what I use, a Panasonic KX-TG2205.
I also have a second one that has three voice-mailboxes built-in. Great
quality units.

It does what you want, ships in one day and sells for $23.80. It uses
almost any "mini-plug" headset you can buy, from $4.99 at Wal-Mart to the
very nice Plantronics:

One last thing: I've never had to replace the battery in mine, but if you
ever do, about 100 places sell the replacement battery for less than $10 (if
you ever need one.) To me, it just shows that Panasonic has sold a *lot* of
these phones. I love 'em.

I hope this helps you in your quest. Enjoy a great weekend.
