I really wouldn't bother, it is aimed at people that will not understand it's use. Switching off at the mains is a better idea as this device USES POWER to run it, more than it costs to leave items on standby. Imagine someone 70+ trying to follow the instructions, they will never understand. I was given mine by one such person who asked what benefit would it be using energy instead of switching off and using none. This device was on Dragons Den a few years ago and they also said it was completely pointless. Why use a so-called energy saving device when it costs you more to use it than not use it! It makes consumers PAY MORE to use so it is a stupid idea and that is why BG got a load of them in very very cheap. Cheap enough to give away, from bankrupt stock probably. The device plugs in and uses power constantly, a number of items plugged in on stadby use power too - but switching off costs nothing. That is the biggest problem the designers didn't understand and still fail to. They are thick! Save your money, never buy one, don't send for a free one unless you want to pay to use it and if you really want one, post your details and I will send one out for free. Providing you don't put it on ebay! Plenty of stupid people are buying them on there at the moment. The same for the energy monitor BG was giving away - this is not accurate, but does show the "standby power user" up for using power! Maybe they should send the devices seperately. BG will send you products that use energy like the standby device as they sell electrcity. So BG do not like people switching off, they want people to use energy and they endorse items which do this and falsely advertise and promote them. If you're using a standby power user you are a complete idiot.

Personally, I think it's rants like that which show you up as a complete idiot. 1) The standby saver worked by totally powering off the items in question until required. If nothing else, it's a question of of swapping six standby devices for one. A saving, no? 2) All five dragons wanted to invest in the standby saver. Admittedly, that deal fell through over the patent, but the inventor got someone else to invest and now doesn't need to work again. Doesn't sound like a failure to me. 3) I have a load of AV gear where the plugs are all behind a large unit. A standby saver is an idea solution for situations like this were many of the items never totally switch off from the front.
