From: nr on 13 Apr 2007 18:45 I bought a 42" Magnavox LCD flat screen TV last month. When I watch channel 15, and only this channel, there is a ringing sound along with the channel's sound. The ringing is not there if I plug the cable into another TV (with or without the cable box), just this one. Magnavox says I need a technician to look at the TV, so I'm waiting for them to find one in my city. Does anyone else have this problem, or heard of it and, hopefully, have an easy solution?

If you are on an analog cable system, certain channels around 15-20 range are usually ones where a weak signal problem will show itself first. If you only get noise distortion while watching the Magnavox LCD TV, that doesn't necessarily mean that the problem is in that specific TV. It could just be that the Magnavox TV has a cheaper analog tuner than the other TV or the cable box you are testing with. For another test, move the Magnavox TV to another room, if you've got cable hooked up in more than one room. The reason is, depending on how your house is wired, it's possible that the cable line to the magnavox tv (where the magnavox tv currently is) has a weaker signal on it than lines to other parts of your house. If you find that the Magnavox TV works OK in another part of your house, then you have a cable wiring problem, possibly inside your house. I'd be very surprised, but not shocked, if it turns out that your Magnavox LCD TV is defective. My money is on cable wiring problem in your ouse. -Dave
