I frequently find that there is supposed to be one message downloaded in
this ng, but when I click on the group name no new message shows.

Were are they going?

Gee, thanks. That was so much help. Refer to the help files for what?
Not all messages go missing, mine and your response both appeared, as
well as your post about a Nivea scam. Possibly this one may appear as well.
