Hi All,

Have been asked if I will ship an item (old 80s computer) to Italy.

Buyer is +39, 100% feedback since 2004, and only seems to have old 80s
computer kit in feedback, so I am comfortable they are genuine. That said,
their transactions are spread out as (Nov '08 x 1, Dec '09 x 3, with the
remainder (40) between January and April this year). But most sellers
leaving feedback seem to have 5 or 6 figure feedback ratings.

Anyway...parcel is <7kg, and is 51cm x 33cm x 28cm. Checking Interparcel, I
can get a quote of 24+VAT, using DHL Europlus, with 50 of cover. Are there
any pitfalls with that?

Cheers

JW

No but Parcel2Go may be cheaper for the same service & do seem to have got
their act together from their prevous terrible customer service now.

I've used RM sending to Italy without any problems before but I am aware
of other sellers having problems with the post on the italian side. If
the seller is prepared to pay the courier costs I'd be inclined to go
that route as it seems quite reasonable(1)

(1) I just looked at the parcelforce website and they come back with a
cheapest price of £47.39 untracked.

The Italian postal service is (or was) infamous for losing things (ie.
stolen by postal employees). But this is based on experience of over 5
years ago and not now. I hope things have improved.

Thanks Niel - I'll check that out.
