I bought one (a newer model, the 429) at the start of Jan and it was terrible.....I really wanted a HD CRT as I prefer the picture quality and detail over LCD, but my model was full of geometry problems with horizontal and vertical lines having serious bowing. The picture quality in the middle of the screen was really good, but it lost focus as it moved towards the corners and had some serious blurred patches at each corner. I spoke to Samsung engineers at length and they said that it can be a common problem and is related to the "short throw tube". TV went back to Comet (but not after some 'discussions') and I ended up buying a Samsung LCD which is really good, but I still have a feeling that a good, high quality HD CRT would be even better, but in my experience the Samsung isn't it.
