"Apple has clamped down on the software tools that developers can use
to write programs for the iPhone.

Before now developers have been free to use many different tools to
create applications for the iPhone and iPad.

Imminent changes to the way the iPhone software development kit is
used will restrict these tools to just three. "<SNIP>

Lovely. I wonder what the fan boys will say when Jobs decides to
finally hit the Macbook/desktop lines with the kinds of restrictions
found on the iPhone/Pod/Pad.

i think a bigger issue is developers will apparently "no longer be
permitted to use outside services to measure how their applications
are performing," which may include analytics.

not to mention the general lack of opacity in the app approval
process- remember the excuse apple gave for rejecting google voice-
that it "duplicates features that come with the iPhone"? putting
aside the fact that it really doesn't, they've approved Opera. THAT
doesn't duplicate features that come with iphone?

f'in weird.
