It's illegal (or at least - it's a violation of the agreement that the
merchant has with the credit-card company) to discriminate against a
card-holder based on country of residence.

Try booking the exact same flights directly with the same airline on
their own web-site. I've never seen expedia or travelocity give a rate
for a given flight that was lower than what could be booked directly
with their airline on their own website.

tried that with Delta but it must know from ip address that it's UK as
it's using for the price. same flight is 150 more than
travelocity.com at the moment.

Travelocity gives UK option for card payments so i'm going to assume
it's ok unless prices come down in the next month or so.

Not going till June so plenty of time to get one. As an aside, when is
the best time to buy a flight if i'm going in June?

Thanks for all comments

Flights in the UK attract VAT at 17.5%

You are evading UK tax.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Barbeques on fire by the chalets past the castle headland
I watched the gift shops glitter in the darkness off the Newborough gate
All these moments will be lost in time, like icecream on the beach
Time for tea.

No they don't. Transportation is "zero rated" for VAT. In other words
you pay VAT but because the rate is 0% you don't pay VAT!

That is just plain wrong, most obviously with countrys
where the use of stolen credit card details is rife.

Particularly when charging for services where there
isnt even a physical address to send the goods to etc.
