I learned my own lesson post-buying a dozen or so tracks and
losing track (no pun intended) of the PIN.

So I just buy the CDs - new or used.

But are they insured? :-) Pictures! Pictures! (That's
probably what your insurance agent will demand if you are
burgled, or your house burns down; but how can they prove the
pictures were of your belongings and not someone else's? So,
since they'll do just about anything to avoid paying a claim,
nothing is insured. And by the time you pass on, your life
insurance company will have gone bankrupt.)

We're all screwed. Everyday in every way.

According to my insurance agent, yes, when I asked him a few years ago
when updating my policy. He was here at the house, so he saw my
collection. I even asked about the necessity of a rider on my policy but
said I didn't need one. We just have to provide a list of what we had.
