The reason they want you to commit to perszonalization is they don't want to see 10-12,000 GBP worth of fine hand-decorated porcelain sold for pences on the pound on flea-markets or auction sites like eBay, and I can honestly say I can't blame them! Limoges is only a slightly younger pottery/china house than Wedgwood, after all... 1500-2500GBP worth of fine Bacarat crystal as a free bonus doesn't hurt either? Take it from someone who just bought in in order to give an inheritance to her grandchildren.
