Yes, I see what you're saying. My view is that not all buyers know of
PoP, and you need to have the (failed) recipient's help in claiming via
PoP, don't you?

Just smoother with recorded. However, like you, I tend to rely on PoP
for most small stuff myself, but I can see an advantage to sending
everything recorded - if the buyer is prepared to pay the extra, as you
say.

I've only needed to claim once with just PoP and it was utterly painless.
For about a tenner they didn't argue at all, and I have no idea if they
spoke to the recipient or just took my word for it that they said they
received nothing.

Oh, right. I had something fail to arrive (I was the buyer) and the
seller had to send me some form or other which I had to sign to say I
hadn't received it.

You wasted your money and potentially your buyer's money. You know, that
buyer you've not refunded yet. There is absolutely no point using Recorded
under the normal compensation limit.
