Any descent combi freeview recorders with hard drive if possible, had a
toshiba and i had to send two machine back because they are faulty both of
them. So i need a good one that works properly

Which retailers have you looked at and which makes/models?
This will stop people suggesting the ones you have already looked
at and found are unsuitable.
It saves a lot of time and searching for people.

I have had a Sony which wasn't very good and the latest was a Toshiba and
that was useless

Panasonic
A friend has one and we use them at work. Great workhorses
Panasonic DMR-EX98V if you can find one.
