Until Ebay becomes a victim of it's own success and collapses (which looks very unlikely) due to bad decisions or becomes a very unviable outlet for sellers, then I am afraid Ebid will remain as a no hoper in the internet auction sites. As a buyer, I do not use Ebid because if I cannot find what I want listed on Ebay, at the price I want to pay, then I know, most definately, it will not be listed on Ebid. As a seller, it is not worth the trouble in listing on Ebid with the hassle that comes with having to list in more than one place. Ebid does not produce the number of punters to make it the only place to list and to list as an auction in the first place is just simply not worth while. For fixed price items, selling through Amazon is probably a better choice due to it's large customer base. MC

Why not? If the same widget is available by auction on both Ebid and Ebay, then surely the selling price is likely to be lower on the site withe fewer punters and less exposure. Not that I've ever used Ebid myself, but that's what logic says to me. David

Until the auction gets pulled with the excuse of "sold elswhere" if the price does not match the sellers expectation. I gave up looking a while ago. MC |
